StillCenter App Repository Could Not Be Loaded

The StillCenter is broken. When it attempts to download repository data, it returns: no such column_appstream_name.

I could live with it but then for no good reason, GNOME Software was removed. I have to go the Flathub store to download files.

This is what happens when a backup is missing. And there is no rpm metapackage for GNOME Software.

I don’t like having to wade through dependency hell just to restore something that should be there.

Hello, I accidentally uploaded ISOs with the dev branch of stillOS instead of the release branch, which is causing some issues. There will be a new ISO available in about an hour, and I am going to push an update to the edge branch that will convert everyone back to the main branch, which should fix all the issues. I apologize for this mistake; new infrastructure will be in place soon to make ISOs more automated and prevent human error.

Cameron, thanks for your reply. I solved the issue by belatedly realizing I needed to install GNOME Software from the repo and not through external files - that fixed the StillCenter not loading problem and once I installed GNOME Extensions, StillConttrol worked. They’re front ends to them and when the former are absent, then there are problems. Would be easier if they’re installed on the system by default. In hindsight, problems work themselves out and arriving at the correct solution helps others.

Yeah the original issue with stillCenter was that it wasn’t pulling Flatpak appstream, which I didn’t catch in testing because I was testing on my original system that already had Flatpak appstream.

stillControl I am unsure why it wasn’t working. The GNOME Extensions app shouldn’t be breaking it. I can not reproduce an issue as it works out of the box for me, maybe stillOS auto updated and fixed it.

I am going to push an update soon to the dev branch to revert to the main branch but if you cannot wait, just run sudo bootc switch ``quay.io/stillhq/stillos-workstation. If you do that, a lot of issues should go away.

Cheers!
